I did train as an illustrator, but after a few years I realised that painting is what I wanted to do. Colour and texture are integral to how I like to work. Weaving paper strips allows me to bring these properties together. Each piece is an experiment where I allow the weaving to have its own life.
Using a more abstract way of working means I can express better my internal world of emotions and feelings. Being part of a group of fellow artists is very important to me. I benefit from the inspiration and friendship that is such a part of belonging to this group.
